Any thoughts on the ability to restrict certain mountpoints to specific format (ogg/mp3/aac/theora) and bitrate combinations?
I'm running an icecast (2.3.1) server for a number of other users, and it would be nice to control what exactly they are able to stream through my server...
Along those lines, seperate log files per mountpoint, and seperate stats pages per mountpoint (maybe possible via xslt template manipulation?) would also be great, as would the ability to read mountpoint config from a database or something. (Then I could have a web front-end to allow users to configure their own mountpoints without actually re-writing the icecast.xml file every time a change occurs) |

a per-mountpoint format restriction would only be based on the mime type as icecast doesn't have specific mp3/aac/nsv codec knowledge. The exception to this is bitrate limiting which is something I have in my branch that is seems to be working out well however it's early days on that.
Feel free to add those other suggestions to the bugs.xiph.org, they certainly have merit, I'm just not sure yet what would be needed to get them to work.
