Icecast2 Win32 v2.3.1 ( Start Server on Application Startup )
Enable|Disable GUI command consol switch flag (BUG)
System, Windows XP (SP2)
System, Windows 2000
Enabling “Start Server on Application Startup “ flag
is not reconfigured after program is Exited / Closed
( Hence to start Service always requires manual intervention )
Guess its back to using Shoutcast “sc_serv” for the time being

PS: At least for me,
no sign of instability ( Crash ) as reported else were in this forum |

Ok I hate to answer my own question
(but this forum is like SPAM Central)
And I feel the solution may be helpful to someone else
OK..
Here's the work-around for XP
which doesnt require you to add an extra key to the registory
Start the Icecast2console in dos window
Go to the directory into which you installed Icecast
( usually "C:\Program Files\Icecast2 Win32" )
Open icecast.xml in Notepad
and edit as necessary then save
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NEXT: Creat a desktop shortcut
a) Create a new Shortcut
b) add command line pointing to Icecast2console.exe
i: in "Target" add:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /k ".\Icecast2console.exe" -c .\icecast.xml
ii: in "Start in" add:
(The path to the directory into which "Icecast" was installed modify as necessary)
"C:\Program Files\Icecast2 Win32"
~~~~~~~~~~~
Thats it..
OK you dont get the nice GUI and Monitoring, but you do get a running server.
If you want to autostart this when the OS starts.
just copy this new shortcut into to the "startup" section of you "desktop" settings
Have fun..
