You're going to have to be a bit more detailed than that...
Have you tried reading around the documentation on the forum first? |

Use MP3 as your broadcast encoder and put this in windows media player "Open URL..."
http://mysite.com:8000/streamname
Of course you will have to change that url above because its a example =). |

I am having a simmilar problem. I have icecast2 and ices running.
I can hear the audio stream with Winamp, but I can not hear it with
Windows media player.
What do I need to do to get Window Media Player to play my audio stream?
Thanks,
Nestor |

again little information given, assuming ices is ices 2.x then the stream is in ogg vorbis format and while winamp ships with a vorbis decode, wmp does not but you can download some direct show filters that will allow it to work in wmp

Karl, you are correct I am using ices2.
Any ideas which filters I need and do I get them from Microsoft?

lol, it takes a lot for microsoft to ship a competitors product.
I personally don't use wmp so I can't comment on issues but the place to get the codecs is http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/

I like linux and I prefer winamp, but my boss said it has to work using
WMP because our users are Microsoft users. Is there a way to make
live audio to MP3 instead of ogg?
Thanks,

To make it work with WMP just go to this page and dowmload the executable
and it works:http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/
How can I make it stream live MP3 instead of ogg usinf icecast2 and ices2?
Thanks,
Néstor |

for mp3, you need a source client that will produce mp3 streams, ices2 is not one of them due to licence restrictions.
