Ok I have worked on this for 5 months. I finally have the url working. My IP address connected to dyndns.com have the software and I am almost ready to take over the world if and only if I could get the SONG TITLES to display. I have searched all the forums and tried all of the instructions in the oddcast help file. Still no dice. All you get is www.gospelindienation.com

Any help would be appreciated.

Icecast v. 2.31 with winamp 5.31 with dyndns updater.

Also I notice some of you have two streams. My question is do you play the same stream and reduce the quality? Everytime I do that the music changes to chipmunk music or sounds like Lurch from the Munsters. I have had to reduce the files to 16kbps, but I would like to offer a stream of 32 kbps for paying customers.

Thanks

song titles are easy to handle but as you haven't said much about your setup then it's hard to give any advice. It could be that your player is not requesting them from an mp3 stream.

If you are getting those effects from your stream then you have the wrong samplerate and/or channels setting. For mp3 you will need to reduce the samplerate considerably to achieve 32kbps.

Here is my oddcast setup:

Here is my metadata setup:

My files have been converted down to 16kbps using dbpoweramp. I use winamp to play a folder and rearrange the playlist as I chose. I have an open chat room where listeners can vote on which songs they like or don't like. But the chatroom is useless because they can't get the song titles.

Any help would be appreciated.

well I don't see any titles appear on the status page either so that would indicate that no title information is being sent to icecast from the source client. You can verify that by looking for entries in your access log for /admin/metadata requests, if they are not there then no updates will occur.
