I have set up an Icecast2 stream on my computer, so that I can listen to my music on various devices on the network in my house.

I have Winamp 5.32 with SpacialAudio DSP plugin, connected to latest IceCast2. They connect and Icecast shows it as running, and stream URL to be 192.168.1.117:8000/live however I can't connect either on the same computer or any other device.
I've tried changing the mount to live.mp3 and live.m3u but that doesn't work either. I've tried listening via WinAmp, Windows Media Player, and Resco Radio on my pocketpc.

It's unlikely to be a connect failure as the source client manages to connect but we don't know what setup you have exactly.

To verify that a stream is active, check the /status.xsl page with a browser and you should see the stream listed on there along with various settings. Your mountpoint would indicate it's an mp3 stream but you have not said exactly.

Have no idea why, but even on my own computer I can't access localhost:8000/status.xsl

Those are images of the Icecast window. All the files are VBR MP3s.

The source and Icecast connect just fine, the problem is that I can't get any listen connection to work.

The only section of config I changed anything in is this:
Code:

    <!-- This is the hostname other people will use to connect to your server.
    It affects mainly the urls generated by Icecast for playlists and yp
    listings. -->
    <hostname>192.168.1.117</hostname>

    <!-- You can use these two if you only want a single listener -->
    <port>8000</port>
    <!--<bind-address>127.0.0.1</bind-address>-->

    <!-- You may have multiple <listener> elements -->
    <listen-socket>
        <port>8000</port>
        <bind-address>192.168.1.117</bind-address>
    </listen-socket>
    <!--
    <listen-socket>
        <port>8001</port>
    </listen-socket>

I switched from Spacialaudio's DSP plugin to oddcast, and it's now working. No idea what the difference is. However, when connecting to the stream in order to listen, (using VLC, Windows Media, or Winamp) I get a loud constant static. I've turned on replaygain plugin with gain&clipping enabled, since I read on the winamp forum that fixed it for someone, but didn't work for me.

Is there a reason why you are using bind-address?

Gave up on the config file and switched to the minimal one Smile So everything is default except for the passwords. Still horrible static on any listen client, though.

[SOLVED]
For some reason even though I changed Icecast config, I had to restart oddcast to get to listen to it correctly Sad Weird.
