Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hi,

i have set up an icecast2 server with darkice. I use debian sarge shell only. My inputmodule is my soundcard with a CD Player. Now id like to stream the titel and artist of the songs.
Is there an opportunity to create a dynamic metadata stream for my listeners?

if the darkice source client does not provide a metadata interface then you can use the admin interface of icecast to get metadata

ok i can entry there an artist and title but it seems that i have to feed in the data every time the song changes manually. I took a look at the darkice config and it doesnt seem to provide any kind of playlist entries. Is there an opportunity to update the title and artist automatically?

That task is up to the source client, icecast cannot do that as it does not have access to the original files.
