I suspect that you are editing an xml file that icecast isn't aware of, not only isn't the intro file option even logged as set, neither are some of the other options you've set, eg hidden. You can confirm that by changing the burst and/or queue size to something different and rechecking the log.

umm yeah maybe you're right i noticed things like this yesterday. eg i changed the passwords but was still able to conenct, then i was even able to connect when icecast was closed and later uninstalled (runs as system device)
1st test in mount:
<burst-size>55555</burst-size>
[2006-04-01 15:37:41] DBUG source/source.c burst size to 65535
2nd test in limits:
<burst-size>55555</burst-size>
[2006-04-01 15:42:17] DBUG source/source.c burst size to 55555
so what to do? i mean when i re-installed it, i wasn't able to conenct, so i edited the xml for the passwords and hostname and it worked again.
looks like it doesn't read the mount settings at all?
<!-- Only define a <mount> section if you want to use advanced options,

Those aren't errors. I can't comment on the clipping part as that is within the content of the mp3 so icecast hasn't touched that, the resync is just the player locating another mp3 block. It plays here in xmms

ok so it isn't bad? foobar doesn't show it when i stream in ogg though.
at least it plays back properly so i don't care about it.
in winamp all is fine. WHOO! thanks man!
now, are there more options like a fade in of the actual stream after the intro stopped?
summary: locate the intro file(s) in icecasts web folder and change the mount section in the config like this:
-->
<mount>
<mount-name>/mountpoint.ogg</mount-name>
<burst-size>65536</burst-size>
<intro>/intro.ogg</intro>
<on-connect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-start</on-connect>
<on-disconnect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-stop</on-disconnect>
</mount>
<mount>
<mount-name>/mountpoint.mp3</mount-name>
<burst-size>65536</burst-size>
<intro>/intro.mp3</intro>
<on-connect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-start</on-connect>
<on-disconnect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-stop</on-disconnect>
</mount>
<mount>
<mount-name>/auth_example.ogg</mount-name>
<authentication type="url">
<option name="mount_add" value="http://myauthserver.net/notify_mount.php"/>
<option name="mount_remove" value="http://myauthserver.net/notify_mount.php"/>
<option name="listener_add" value="http://myauthserver.net/notify_listener.php"/>
<option name="listener_remove" value="http://myauthserver.net/notify_listener.php"/>
</authentication>
</mount>
-->

intro will work with all files, ogg/mp3/aac/nsv, but you have to match the intro to the stream format, don't expect players to handle a midstream switchover to work from say mp3 to ogg. Fade in/out is a question of the content, icecast doesn't do encoding but your intro file itself could fade in and out if need be.

yes i use IIS
you need to give out your real server IP. 192.168.0.X is a network IP. if you dunno your server IP (you should), open this in your browser on the server http://www.whatismyip.com/
your mount is called /Radio/live ??? try /Radio.mp3 |
