Basically, everything looks good on my /status.xls page, but for some reason some weird things happen to the playlist.

1 --> people tell me they get some error about syncing to the mpeg.

2 --> When I open it in winamp (on another computer in my house) it just plays a silent file (the timestamp changes, so it appears to be playing). It also shows the correct ID3 tag info in playlist.

3 --> When opening it in Windows Media Player, I get an error saying it can't open the file.


I'm 100% newb to icecast, so it's probably something really simple that I've missed.

No stream details appear on the status page, so it's hard to say exactly. The message from 1. would indicate that the stream is supposed to be mp3 and whatever is sent is not.

For the error in 1. - try not to stream files with blank spaces in names.

For example, rename
Huey Lewis And The News - The Power Of Love.mp3
to
Huey_Lewis_And_The_News-The_Power_Of_Love.mp3
