I'm trying to compile ices-0.4
I get this..
hecking shout/shout.h usability... no
checking shout/shout.h presence... no
checking for shout/shout.h... no
configure: error: Could not find a usable libshout
and shout.h seems to exist in /usr/local/include
[root@belize ices-0.4]# ls -al /usr/local/include/s*.h
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6907 May 30 15:16 /usr/local/include/shout.h
I put in a link in /usr/include/shout.h, just for fun. Didn't make any difference.
[root@belize ices-0.4]# ls -al /usr/include/shout.h
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26 May 30 15:40 /usr/include/shout.h -> /usr/local/include/shout.h
[root@belize ices-0.4]#
I installed libshout-2.2.1 and I did a make install from that software.
[root@belize libshout-2.2.1]# |

Wait, I see. make install on libshout installed to /usr/local/include/shout.h and this code is looking for/ usr/local/include/shout/shout.h
Never mind. |

This is fixed in the current tree and should be in the next release depending on when Brendan thinks it's ready.

I found that I needed theora installed for pkg-config to not puke on libshout (which of course also needed to be installed)
Also, I had to edit the config fire and change any instance of shout/shout.h to shout.h, since shout.h was in /usr/include, not /usr/include/shout
Then the configure process completes normally.
This is on Centos 5.1
so, basically, yum install -y libshout* theora* lame* fixed most of the problem. editing the configure file fixed the rest |
