I was wondering how can i have the choice to have multiple rates, from just one dsp source.
I mean I have a dsp encoder broadcasting to 48 kbps 22050 Khz stereo
and i want the server reencode the stream to 24 kbps 22050 khz mono
after i asked on the mailing list Geoff Shang gave the answer

http://www.oddsock.org/tools/streamTranscoder
This application creates an icecast client and lets you reencode the stream to any bitrate and send it to another server.

So i execute 2 icecast servers, port 8000 and 8100 with shoutcast compatible enable, and there it is! i got it!

I write this just to let you know if you are asking the same i was.

There is really no need to run two instances of icecast, you can have more than one stream on one server.

yeah, you can declare more mount points
but, i think if you declare dsp shoutcast compatibility the default mount is /stream and im not sure how to declare other mp3 mount with shoutcast dsp compatibility, if you can helpme with that...

You cannot, the protocol that shoutcast source clients use, not only require 2 ports but also fail to provide a mountpoint to uniquely identify it. To even consider handling multiple shoutcast source clients, any mountpoint naming would have to be server generated and metadata updates could never be used.

Of course native icecast 2 source clients don't have that problem
