I get the following entry in my icecast-error.log every 5 seconds:

[2006-06-26 23:29:32] WARN client/client_read_bytes source connection has died

Can anyone shed some light on what is being reported with this entry. I'm not having any issues with clients or source clients ... as far as I know but I would like to know if there is in fact an issue ... and also cut down on the log volume.

It's hard to say from your description, but if the source clients/relays are stable then it will be other clients, but if you are getting no other messages then it could be something like a port scanner, ie something opening a connection then dropping it.

You would have to use a network sniffer to see exactly but every 5 seconds should be easy enough to monitor.
