What protocols have changed now that you have changed up how the Icecast Directory looks? I can't find our radio stations. We have always been listed under the old directory. Is there something new that we need to do to get listed? |

Hi, can you share your Icecast server URL / Stream URL please?
Which Icecast version are you running and are you using the -kh variant or the official one? Do you do the listing in the directory with a different server than the one that actually broadcasts the streams? |

After you reverted back to the regular Icecast Directory setup, our streams showed up again. KH. |

We list in multiple genres per station. Previously we did not use commas in between genre names. Do we need to now? |

Now, a bunch of our streams are listed, but they all show 0 listeners, which is not correct for any but the xHE-AAC streams.
What does it take for the new directory to measure listener numbers? |

Now, NONE of our streams are listed. What in the heck is going on over there? |

Can you check your Icecast error log for any directory listing related errors?
From your description it sounds like the server might never successfully touch (which is when it actually sends the amount of listeners to the directory) but only add…
Missing touches will cause the server to get removed after a while. Additionally please share the yp related part of your icecast configuration, if possible. Maybe it's an issue with the touch interval… |

Our stream host says:
Here's the YP configuration for all your servers:
<directory>
<yp-url-timeout>15</yp-url-timeout>
<yp-url>http://dir.xiph.org/cgi-bin/yp-cgi</yp-url>
</directory> |

It seems there are in general problems with streams listing in the directory from that hoster, not entirely sure why but it seems it does not respect the touch interval so touches are missing and the streams always get removed again.
Additionally the IP that produces the add requests to the directory does not match the IP address the Icecast listenurl resolves too (which is not necessarily a problem) that could indicate they use some custom solution / script that produces the entries.
Anyway without any logs from their side its not really possible to investigate further easily. |

All twelve of our stations' streams are listed again. They all show zero listeners on the directory. What else can be done by our stream host/ by us / by you to make our actual listener count show on the directory? |

I've just checked again and it seems the streams show up as expected now with correct listener count? For example "THE BLAST BLENDER 128 kbps Hi-Fi Christian Hot CHR" showed up with 4 listeners. |
