Hi,

I've got two XP boxes, one running the server, and the other running Native Instrument's Traktor DJ app that streams to the server. Everything is configured ok and on my local network things are smooth.

However, all my clients are experiencing lots of buffer refills and not a coherent stream. Where can I spend time in improving performance?

I am assuming I can't run the server from the Linux box of my web domain provider (isp?), or can I?

I suggest this as my DSL upload capacity might not be enough? What kind of upload capacity would I need to get a decent stream going?

Is there a better configuration for my kind of situation, i.e. a different set of threads/number of users/etc that I can configure the server for?

Do I have any other options to be able to stream at a good out?

Thanks,
Mohsen

streaming is tried to bandwidth, basic formula is number of listeners * bitrate of the stream. This is overhead for the protocols and VBR streams can change rapidly so allow enough for those.
