Perhaps, I stupid, but I can't understand how to use playlist modules. Whether can somebody show a simple example? And whether it is possible to make the web-interface by means of the perl-module and by means of it to operate playlist online.
PS Sorry for my terrible English |

a module requires a couple basic functions, ie, get next song, get title etc..... (not for sure exact names, am at work). I am pretty sure an extremely simple example is included with the install.... look for ices.pm.dist if I remember correctly. Now my perl get next song function ties into my database which first checks to see if anyone queued a song, and if not picks a random song from my database (based on certain criteria I set up).
so I have:
web interface:
public: allows browsing, queueing, rating, skipping, etc of songs
admin: a config page on how to select songs at random... IE I limit the random to my favorite genres, songs less then a certain length (so I dont have to worry abuot a 20 min. song with 10 minutes of silence), etc.
database backend
perl module for ices:
modified ices code: this still isnt working 100% but since my music is on a network share and from time to time it goes down (and I dont want 2 streams running) i am playing with modifying the code to have a backup perl module for selecting music if the primary method doesnt work....
www.crackity.com is my site |
