Hello,
Seems to be that it's almost impossible for me to configure the server.
I tried with 2 distros and have the same problem......could be hardware problem...hmm...?
Anyway I want to post the last error that get and see if someone could help me.
I followed the instructions in this post: http://forum.icecast.org/viewtopic.php?t=190
and when run :icecast -c /home/icecast/icecast/icecast.xml &
get the error: cannot change server root unless runing as root
By the way: Does anybody know a good tutorial for configuring icecast?
Regards

If you want to start icecast as root then do so (for chroot you do), but you have to change to a non-root user, defined in the xml. If you are experiencing some issue with a valid non-root user/group then by all means let us know the details.

Hi,
I have to wake up this post because I still have the same problem (I took some time to work again on this)
The user that I use to run the command is a valid user.
So, What can I do?
