Hi

I have been looking in the rather large manuals and have decided that it will be faster to ask this simple question here to save me time reading the whole manual if this is not possible..

Is it possible to stream directly from the line in of my sound card ?

As an example if i want to attach a CD player to the line in and stream the audio CD...

yes.

If you want examples of source clients to use then check the information relating to ices2, liveice, oddcast and a few others. Which one depends on your setup and what you want to achieve.

You need a live input source client.

Try either Liveice or Darkice.

Hi

Thanks for the reply, the picture tell's it all..

Which program is preferred to use = Easiest ?

My main goal at first is to put a CD player to the line in of my server and stream this out on the internet so that i can sit at work and listen to it.

It should be running on a Windows 2003 server ...

Oh yeah and i would prefer if it would be password protected in some way. I mean so that i would have to enter a password to access the stream. If this is not possible would it not be possible to just put it on a odd port number that is not usually associated with streaming to that if someone scanned my ip for streams it would not find it Smile
