|
|
Thisis my first post and I'm glad to have this forum to turn to. I have set up a scanner website at http://scandfw.com and am using Icecast 2 as the streaming server.
I have had no problems whatsoever serving up my local scanner feed using Simplecast. However I am unable to successfully relay from any of the Katrina disaster relief feeds.
http://aurora.foghaven.net:8000/LSP.m3u is an example. This is the destination URL if you click the Katrina Relief link at the bottom of my webpage. I can access this feed perfectly using the link above, but have had no success relaying from it. My client successfully connects to the posted link I provide, but all I get is an endless 'BUFFERING' display, and no sound ever comes through.
I don't know what the source format of the feed is, whether it is a form of IceCast or Shoutcast, but have tried all variations of the suggested setups in my config file with essentially the same results
This is what I have now:
<relay>
<server>aurora.foghaven.net</server>
<port>8000</port>
<mount>/LSP.m3u</mount>
<local-mount>/katrina</local-mount>
<relay-shoutcast-metadata>0</relay-shoutcast-metadata>
</relay>
I also tried this:
<relay>
<server>aurora.foghaven.net</server>
<port>8000</port>
<mount>/</mount>
<local-mount>/katrina</local-mount>
<relay-shoutcast-metadata>0</relay-shoutcast-metadata>
</relay>
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Ron |

That <relay> definition will not work as it's an m3u you're trying to relay, not a stream, drop the .m3u part as you don't want to relay a playlist. Can you connect to the master server at all ? check your error log for details.
These mountpoints would indicate that they are mp3 streams, is this correct?

Karl,
Yes, they are MP3 streams. I edited my relay to look like this:
<relay>
<server>aurora.foghaven.net</server>
<port>8000</port>
<mount>/LSP</mount>
<local-mount>/katrina</local-mount>
<relay-shoutcast-metadata>0</relay-shoutcast-metadata>
</relay>
After dropping the '.m3u' the relay began working and I'm listening to it as I write this.
Thanks for your suggestion, it was right on target!
Regards,
Ron |
