Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hey i have hit a deadend in my installation of the icecast2 server on debian linux. After trying many times to fix the problem i could not find a solution so i was looking for some help here.

Heres the error i am receiving:

Are you sure icecast can read the /etc/icecast2/icecast.xml file?

Hey thanks for responding but that never seemed to fix the problem either. I tried changing the file permissions of the icecast.xml file still with no luck and the same error as before even after restarting my system. Im pooched id say to what migt be causing this error. Any help is greatly appreciated!

There's nothing that you have posted that will help pinpoint the exact cause because we don't know the context in which icecast starts. The error message I identified is actually from libxml2 not icecast, which says that the library is not able to read the file. It could be because it doesn't exist in a chroot jail or the user running icecast doesn't have read access to the file, without knowing the installation details it's hard to say exactly.

The xml itself looks ok, but it's not getting that far at the moment.
