Okay, I have an OSX powerbook and I just set up an icecast server but for some unknown reason I cannot find a suitable source client for the LIFE of me for OSX! I have tried the following:

Whamb
MPlayer
Nicecast
and even VLC

and I cannot get any of them to work, in fact, I cannot even find the section of the software where I set up the server address, mount point, password etc.

Why are there no easy to use, up front, plug in the server info here and start broadcasting such as the ODDCAST Standalone client for WINDOWS?

Whamb seems to be the easiest at this piont, but i cannot find where to set the streaming preferences. I even searched their site and documenation and found nothing so if anyone uses WHAMB and would like to tell me how to do this it would be much appreciated.

Personally I cannot believe I have now wasted 3 hours of my life trying to figure this out. It should be idiot proof if you ask me.

PS.
I do not want an option where i have to run some arbitrary command line to start the streaming. I want something USER FRIENDLY because I will have to teach people how to do this if they have mac and want to stream a show on the server. I do not want to have to explain to some extremely novice user how to start all this crap up using the terminal and obviously compiling darkice is out of the question for these people as well.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Your post is from June, maybe you already figured out a solution, but I just figured this out myself.

Everyone said Nicecast would work for my needs but it took me 4 installs and poking around to find the window to configure it to be a source client for a remote icecast server. It's in Window > Server, or something like that. Baffling that an otherwise nice piece of software shouldn't make that config easier to find.
