Icecast Streaming Media Server

I'm new to Icecast, Winamp and Oddcast, so this is all greek to me.

I set it up with the lame mp3 encoder in the winamp root dir. I changed the password on the default server properties. Oddcast seems to connect fine, but once I play a song in winamp it disconnects.

Well I got it somewhat working. How would I connect to it from another IP address? I have a tutorial that says to use http://ip:8000/stream.ogg , but that just downloads files to quicktime and doesnt play it until I stop the server.

nevermind, got it all working once I put winamp lite on the client.

winamp does ship with the plugins, but other players like quicktime and wmp need plugins to be installed. You may also use java based players.
