|
|
Hi,
I've just installed icecast2 on my debian box and it is running
Now my question is, can I configure a maximum allowed bandwidth per source?
I did not find anything in the documentation.
Best regards

not in icecast, things like VBR streams and burst effects make the assessment difficult. You can of course limit listeners per source and set some traffic shaping on the network.

Ok,
what about rejecting incomming streams having a too high rate?
Can icecast detect the bitrate of the stream? |

To do bitrate detection, either thr format needs to be parsed or some general assessment of the data throughput needs to be done. I'm trying out the latter in my branch work (as the non-vorbis case wouldn't work) but nothing has been decided yet on forcing an upper limit, but could be implemented later.
