Let me give you my setup. I have two Linux boxes running Icecast2 (one for my Internal Network, and one for Internet listeners.) I have a Windows XP machine that is running SAM3, and it is sending streams to both servers.
I have been running an Icecast2 server for about 4 months now with no problems. In the last week and a half, I cannot stay connected to the Internet stream. I get no error message in my player (xmms) it just hangs with a "Connecting to" message. Icecast is still running (I can see it via the Top command) and SAM is still running and encoding to the server. The server that is handling the internal network is running fine. If I restrart the server, then icecast runs fine again for a while, and the whole thing starts over.
I am a little stumped as to why the Internet server runs fine for 6-8 hours, then ceases to allow connections. Anyone have any thoughts? |
