I am streaming icecast and ices using the ice-oss.xml sample file
and I connect with winamp and windows media on client MS machines
but do not hear any sound.
I login as admin and I see that there are 2 listeners
Any ideas where to go from here?
Thanks,

wmp will only work with vorbis streams if the right codecs are installed, it's unclear whether you have done that. winamp (non-lite) ship a vorbis decoder but they require that the mountpoint ends in .ogg, it's unclear what name you have given for the mountpoint.

Karl,
I set up a mount point as http://www.domain.com:8000/highband.ogg
I have the latest winamp for windows but I see if I can download the
codecs for winamp and Windows media. I do know that I try to access it
with realaudio and I could not. Real Audio would not even show as a listener.
This is my test for music streaming but I still I am not able to stream voice
and I need to be able to stream audio coming from A/V input into my
soundcard by Monday.
Thanks, |

Another success story. Streaming live audio
I tough that because my sound card was playing music that should do it but not
I solved my problem by providing sound coming into the line-in of my soundcard.
I do not know why that makes a difference but that is how I managed to
stream live audio. I know I need to find a way to change the delay from 15 seconds to 5 seconds.
Thanks!!

I am having a simmilar problem. I have icecast2 and ices running.
I can hear the audio stream with Winamp, but I can not hear it with
Windows media player.
What do I need to do to get Window Media Player to play my audio stream?
Thanks,
