I am in need of help configuring a WIN32 Icecast server. The goal is to have a hifi stream and lofi stream hifi encode at 64K and lofi encode at 24K Both streams would have 2 mounts each:

HIFI config - cyg1_hi and cyg2_hi with a fallback steam of auto_hi

LOFI config - cyg1_lo and cyg2_lo with a fallback steam of auto_lo

Below is the Icecast.xml currently setup: (Note I am only pasting the Mount section)

Begin Of Icecast Config Paste

<mount>
<mount-name>/cyg1_hi</mount-name>

<username>****</username>
<password>*****</password>

<max-listeners>40</max-listeners>
<dump-file>/tmp/dump-example1.ogg</dump-file>
<burst-size>65536</burst-size>
<fallback-mount>/auto_hi</fallback-mount>
<fallback-override>1</fallback-override>
<fallback-when-full>1</fallback-when-full>
<intro>/cygnusintro.mp3</intro>
<hidden>1</hidden>
<no-yp>1</no-yp>
<authentication type="htpasswd">
<option name="filename" value="myauth"/>
<option name="allow_duplicate_users" value="0"/>
</authentication>
<on-connect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-start</on-connect>
<on-disconnect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-stop</on-disconnect>
</mount>

<mount>
<mount-name>/cyg2_hi</mount-name>

<username>****</username>
<password>****</password>

<max-listeners>10</max-listeners>
<dump-file>/tmp/dump-example1.ogg</dump-file>
<burst-size>65536</burst-size>
<fallback-mount>/cyg1_hi</fallback-mount>
<fallback-override>1</fallback-override>
<fallback-when-full>1</fallback-when-full>
<intro>/cygnusintro.mp3</intro>
<hidden>1</hidden>
<no-yp>1</no-yp>
<authentication type="htpasswd">
<option name="filename" value="myauth"/>
<option name="allow_duplicate_users" value="0"/>
</authentication>
<on-connect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-start</on-connect>
<on-disconnect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-stop</on-disconnect>
</mount>

<mount>
<mount-name>/cyg1_lo</mount-name>

<username>****</username>
<password>****</password>

<max-listeners>40</max-listeners>
<dump-file>/tmp/dump-example1.ogg</dump-file>
<burst-size>65536</burst-size>
<fallback-mount>/cyg2_lo</fallback-mount>
<fallback-override>1</fallback-override>
<fallback-when-full>1</fallback-when-full>
<intro>/cygnusintro.mp3</intro>
<hidden>1</hidden>
<no-yp>1</no-yp>
<authentication type="htpasswd">

<option name="allow_duplicate_users" value="0"/>
</authentication>
<on-connect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-start</on-connect>
<on-disconnect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-stop</on-disconnect>
</mount>

<mount>
<mount-name>/cyg2_lo</mount-name>

<username>****</username>

<max-listeners>10</max-listeners>
<dump-file>/tmp/dump-example1.ogg</dump-file>

</authentication>
<on-connect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-start</on-connect>
<on-disconnect>/home/icecast/bin/stream-stop</on-disconnect>
</mount>

<mount>
<mount-name>/auth_example.ogg</mount-name>
<authentication type="url">
<option name="mount_add" value="http://myauthserver.net/notify_mount.php"/>
<option name="mount_remove" value="http://myauthserver.net/notify_mount.php"/>
<option name="listener_add" value="http://myauthserver.net/notify_listener.php"/>
<option name="listener_remove" value="http://myauthserver.net/notify_listener.php"/>
</authentication>
</mount>

End Of Icecast Config Paste

The goal is for a listener to get Cyg1 or Cyg2 when connecting if a live DJ is on the air.. if not then they would fallback to the auto, which is an M3u playlist.

currently the fallbacks do not work.

Any help getting this working is appreciated.

It's not clear from your post if the /auto_hi and /auto_lo streams were running at the time the other streams stopped.

Can the fallback stream auto-start when a fallback occurs?
