|
|
Hi
I always have the same error when starting Ices2:
| Code: |
| [2007-07-20 19:14:46] EROR input/input_loop Couldn't initialise input module "alsa" |
My Module-Part in the config file looks like this:
| Code: |
<input>
<module>alsa</module>
<param name="rate">44100</param>
<param name="channels">2</param>
<param name="device">hw:0,0</param>
<!-- Read metadata (from stdin by default, or -->
<!-- filename defined below (if the latter, only on SIGUSR1) -->
<param name="metadata">1</param>
<param name="metadatafilename">/home/jonas/ices/metadata</param>
</input> |
and amidi -l gives me the following output:
| Code: |
Dir Device Name
IO hw:0,0 CA0106 MPU-401 (UART)
|
My Soundcard is "Soundblaster Audigy SE" running on Ubuntu 7.04
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Help would be very appreciated.
Thanks and greetings from Switzerland |

i didn't choose a specific option for alsa, i just compiled it as the most common programs with ./configure, make, make install.
was that the mistake?
thx |

you still haven't said whether alsa support is being compiled in, the configure stage determines if alsa is being found or not

you'll have to check the packages for your distribution but it's probably something like alsa-devel or similar.

yep, ive installed the alsa libs now. had a few problems with asoundlib2 after that, but i got rid of it.
ices works now with icecast2, but the output of the sound is like in slowmotion, its about 20% slower than the original.
does anyone know this problem? thanks |

maybe you have a 44.1k/48k samplerate mismatch somewhere. a possible example is that the samples are coming in at 48khz but you are encoding at 44.1khz.
