|
|
Hi,
I am new here. I need to setup the following setup:
1. I need to use the IIS Broadcaster (for Surround streaming: http://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/EN/bf/amm/mp3sur/tou.jsp) which is an shoputcast application from Frauenhofer. This software generates from a stereo-source a Surround stream/ file.
2. This stream should be relayed over icecast to another icecast server.
At the moment I manage to stream to the first icecast server, and I can connect to the stream. It then has as expected 6 channels (5.1 surround). But as soon as I connect to the stream on the second icecast-server, I only get the stereo signal (2-channels). A connect with the Winamp-Plugin (ftp://ftp1.fraunhofer.de/institute/iis/amm/mp3surround/IIS_MP3s_Winamp_Plugin.exe) does not allow to connact to any stream.
Does anyone of you have an idea how I can manage to relay the shoutcast-surround-stream over several icecast-servers, so I can get the surroundsound at the client?
Does anyone have experiences with the IIS Shoutcast Surround broadcaster?
Does the icecast support relaying of 5.1-surround-streams?
Thank you for your help in advance

The handling of non-ogg streams in icecast involves essentially just passing the data through unmodified, so icecast is not doing any conversion or filtering.

thanks I knew, that icecast works like this, but I couldn't believe it in this matter. NOw I recognized, that the stream is realy surround, but the Winamp-Player cannot play such a stream with enabled plugin. So the icecast works fine!
Thanks for your help. |
