Icecast Streaming Media Server

[Anonymous]

hey i need your help.... i had a internet radio show for about a year now on another internet radio station.... i now want to have my own internet radio station.... i been searching for different prices on servers.. asking questions... and i get all different answers.... now i been using shoutcast...that used to link the the old stations server and it always worked.... and the player on my radio site and the stations is a windows media player that it was streamed to...and im not really familiar with icecast... so im lost when it comes to that.... so my questions are..

What specs do i need to have or look for in a server to run this radio station?

how much bandwidth do i need?

Does my server have to have some software installed on it for shoutcast to work and stream? if so what is it called and where do i get it???

Does it have to be configured a certain way ???

What server is the cheapest but does the job??

i appreciate any advice and help you can offer... im suppost to go live on the air with this station monday... and im going crazy..... and anyone that can help me get this up and running totally ... i can offer you some free ad space on our sites... and i personally own a national magazine... so please feel free to post here.. or if your on AIM/AOL u can hit me at THEDIMEPIECEMAG or my email is THEMAGAZINGKING@GMAIL.COM
