Sometime since last week, when I started my icecast server, a garbled-sounding stream developed. I've encountered this before with Shoutcast and third party hosting. It's not anything for me to worry about. I use Sam 3. Generally I stop and restart the encoder for the stream affected, and doing that resolves the problem.

Today I did the same thing, and the stream resumed the sound quality it had before the garbled sound occurred. After I restarted the stream, there was a bit of a lag before my station was relisted at the icecast directory, which was expected.

However, the problem seems to be that when I clicked onto the listen image for my station at the directory, the audio player appeared with the word "connecting", but the buffering never took place. Nonetheless, the buffering and connecting occur on another computer when I type in the url address of my broadcast.

I'm using a public ip address, which is associated with my dedicated server in which resides the icecast server. Thus, my listening address is not a LAN. There are no issues relating to a firewall or a router.

My station is found at the icecast directory by typing into the free form search field Radio Orenovscotia.

Does the listening difficulty at the directory resolve on its own with time?

The only mountpoint entry I see is listed as as an mp3 stream but with a .ogg extension (the content is actually mp3) so you have a misconfiguration there.

Thank you. I have two different modems at this location. The computers here are separate from the dedicated server located elsewhere.

Now, it seems, regardless of the computer I use at my location, when I click onto the listen image for my station at the directory, the audio player works.

I won't show the ip address of my dedicated server, but the listen address is something like, http://256.66.88.120:8000/radioorenovscotia.ogg.m3u.
In this illustration, everything except the numeric ip address is the same.

The latter part of the address, that is, .ogg.m3u, is what I need to add to my listening address, according to the Basics instructions anent setting up the icecast server.

I use Sam 3; in the encoder window of the latter, for mount, I typed /radioorenovscotia.ogg, when I configured the Sam encoder. In addition, when I look at that particular encoder for Icecast, it appears to be streaming. There are no errors, et cetera, indicated.

Thank you again.
