I just upgraded to Icecast 2.3.1 and now my firewall periodically catches this:
'ICECASTSERVICE.EXE' from your computer wants to connect to mf-iii.xiph.osuosl.org [140.211.166.5], port 80
What is up with this?
For further information, I am streaming Ogg Vorbis from foobar2000 via Oddcast 3.1.6 component on win32. |

What is this stream directory?
There is this in the icecast.xml file:
| Code: |
<directory>
<yp-url-timeout>15</yp-url-timeout>
<yp-url>http://dir.xiph.org/cgi-bin/yp-cgi</yp-url>
</directory> |

Have a look on dir.xiph.org, you'll see what is meant by a stream directory.
