| hi, thanks for the great icecast project. as you can read in subject line, i am interestred in configuring the current icecast version (2.3.1) for multiple shoutcast sources. my intention is to get a multiuser server, that is, some sources shoultdn't have the same password. as i could read the documentation this should work out in several ways, i also tested the php stuff in the example folder, but this doesn't work as long as the shoutcast compatible mode is activated. is it right, that it definitely doesn't work out in sc mode, or did i sth. wrong? |

If you mean multiple shoutcast source clients as opposed to relaying shoutcast streams then 2.3.1 is not capable of handling more than one at a time and the mountpoint is fixed. The protocol that those source clients use does not include a mountpoint so it is more limited as icecast has to assume one <shoutcast-mount>.
However, in the trunk code you can specify a shoutcast-mount in the <listen-socket> section to assume a mountpoint based on the incoming port so with trunk you can use multiple shoutcast style source clients. In both cases the authentication side should apply although I believe the option names may need checking for url based auth (listener_add, listener_remove etc)
