|
|
Hello togehter,
first i would say "Thanks @ all Devs" - Icecast is damn hot!
Now to my where must i set these "Mountpoints" ?
My Server runs with Debian Etch and i installed icecast2 via apt-get. Compiled ices0 on the Server because in the Debian repositories is only ices2.
The Icecastserver runs well since some days and everything is fine. Now i want to test some new features like an intro and a authentication. But i see this is done with Mountpoint. But where must i set this ? I run icecast2 with ices0. So must i set this in icecast or in ices0 config ? Here are my current running configs. I never set such a Mountpoint. Only started icecast2 and ices and my stream works out of the box

Would be nice if someone can give me a hint. I checked the Docu and some external HowTos but there a not such detail configs.
Thanks a lot!
Have a nice Day...

The various mountpoint settings like intro are set within the icecast xml, withing the <mount> section. You have a commented out sample in your own xml file. You don't need to set all the options just the ones you think you need.

Thanks for Info!
But does not really work
I tested this in my icecast.xml
| Code: |
<mount>
<mount-name>/stream.ogg</mount-name>
<max-listeners>2</max-listeners>
<intro>/intro.ogg</intro>
</mount>
|
Also tested without mount-name.
max-listeners should be "2" but is still unlimited and no intro is played.
I copied it to the webroot. Loglevel is debug but no entry about it.
How could that be ?
What i not understand, how should the script know that this is the setting
for ices0 ?
And the next is, i can create many mountpoint in the ices.conf so for which point is this setting here in icecast?
Thanks again.

The usual reason for a mountpoint setting not being applied has been because the details have been placed within comment markers so therefore get ignored, like in the example you posted.
Assuming ices0 is using the icecast2 protocol then the mountpoint will be passed to icecast, if you are using the shoutcast style protocol then icecast has to assume the mountpoint name.
