Hello!

We are 4 djs and we want to make a live internet radio with icecast.
We want this scenario:

1. each dj will have his own show but 1 of them will be the "master" dj which can bypass all others if he wants.

2. When no one has a show radio must play a playlist that we define automatically. We plan to use SAM Broadcaster.

Is there any tutorial for this?

Thanks for any answers...

Have sam broadcast on a hidden mountpoint, and configure a relay of that hidden mountpoint. Then configured each DJ to fallback-override the hidden mountpoint. Listeners listen on the relay.

You mentioned sam before but you can use any source client, the key thing is that the fallback stream needs to be in a similar format or else you'll find that listeners cannot handle the switchover.

Thank you again for your answer!

To be clear i want to achieve the following scenario.
4 djs each one from his home with winxp & sam broadcaster.
1 server outside(germany) with linux hosting and icecast installed.
this server will have plenty of space to host mp3 files which will be used
as a random playlist when no one of the djs has a show. Here i want to use ezstream which will take the playlist and play these mp3s in random order. As i understood you mean that this will be the master stream which all listeners will listen. When one of the djs connect as source to the server this stream will stop and then he will take control right?

sorry for my english Smile

You have the basics down but to clear up a couple of points that might be misleading up. If ezstream is providing the backup (24/7) stream then is won't stop even if another DJ is connected, it will just move the source of the relay from one mountpoint to another. Note as well that the actual listeners are on the relay mountpoint, so they don't really get moved, but the content the relay sees will change.
