Hi,
I'm running IceCast with Traktor 2.6. I managed to configure the server and get everything working nice and properly. My stream could be heard by clients and whatnot. Basically everything was as I wanted it to be. However after shutting down my laptop and then turning it back on the next day, I attempted to broadcast, but the server was not recognizing any clients, or the source.
I reinstalled and reconfigured the server exactly the same as before, and again, it worked fine. I again restarted the laptop to check, and was faced with the same problem.
Can anyone please shed any light on this? Am I alone? |

I've not heard of this effect. Are you seeing any logging from icecast after the restart. I'm assuming the web pages don't come through either.

Nope, no webpages either, I'm getting absolutely nothing. The server will start no problem, but it's not logging any connections at all: Client, Source or otherwise.
Really confused to why simply restarting could do this...
Could you possibly post some recommended settings that have proven bug free for me to try, incase it is due to some anomaly in the way I've configured the .xml file... |

normally a timeout of web page requests would indicate a firewall block, maybe you should describe what you do exactly when restarting icecast and how you check that it is running and that netstat shows icecast listening to whatever port.
The more information you specify the more we understand about your setup. Are you using 127.0.0.1 as you address for web. Just a FYI, icecast has only the xml for configuration and that won't cause a non-response for client requests.
