I have an Icecast installation on my Windows Server 2003 server which has everything set up. I think it is an older version since it does not automatically clean the log files. I also have have it go inactive randomly while everything else on the server is fine so I would like to upgrade.
I want to upgrade to the latest version of Icecast without ruining my radio (I understand stream will have to stop for a certain amount of time...I don't mind as long as it works after).
How can I go about doing this? |

run a parallel install. install the application in an alternative directory and configure it to suit your needs. you can run multiple icecasts at the same time if they are on different ports. That way you can have everything ready to go without touching your existing installation.

well the problem is that i have no experience in setting up the streaming server. i have the streams coded into a flash player so changing the port would not be good.
if i copy and paste the configuration into a new installation will it work? |
