hi all this is my first post and i am happy to be a member great site ...my problem that i am having is i have everthig running good but i need to have the control of users who use my stream like user names and password but i cant seem to configure the xsl file for that ....so can anyone pinpoint where in the xsl file should i put the info and to allow me to handle pass word and user names and what would be the url to go to the page to handle them...thank in advance.

For listener autherntication, use the <authentication> block within a <mount> section. htpasswd auth is relatively easily to setup while url auth can be used for more complex setups.

is all these feilds in the main icecast config? or do i have to add my own scripts ....can you post a sample for me as a guide line i am new at this but i am a quick learner .

your xml is mostly commented out settings, so look at the options, check against the docs for what the setting means. As for the specific options of interest, like I said before, check the <authentication> block in <mount>. It sounds like htpasswd is what you want from your limited description, in which case no external scripts are required.
