I originally posted this on Tue Apr 12, 2016 3:26 am ...and it was never answered. Any help on this?
"We've tested FLAC streaming and there does not appear to be metadata support. This is FLAC in the Ogg container. Also, FLAC streams showing in the Icecast Directory are showing as Ogg Vorbis streams."
We are not currently streaming in FLAC, but I saw a stream billed as a FLAC station on the directory today that lists as using the Ogg Vorbis codec.
Is there metadata support for FLAC streams yet?
And what is the best FLAC encoder for sound quality? |

Hi, this forum is not an official Icecast forum or the venue to use for requests or issue reports for the Xiph directory.
Instead, subscribe to the Icecast mailing list and send a mail to it or email Icecast webmaster at webmaster (at) icecast.org.
Anyway about the original issue, this should be fixed once we deploy the new directory that is currently developed. |

I sent an email to the webmaster as the first thing I did, but I did not receive a reply. I used to subscribe to the Icecast dev emails but most of it is irrelevant to me as I am not a developer. I am program director of multiple radio stations that stream via Icecast. |
