Ok...so heres what I've done.I've configured icecast and mpd and when i say http://my name:8000/ i get the icecast page.

However, a lot of websites tell me to look at /mpd.mp3.m3u...when i do this...firefox asks me to download an mp3 audio(streamed)

Also..i use the music player minion client...when i set it to http://my name:8000 it says not connected at the bottom right.

any help???

m3u is a playlist, you can directly open, no download because it's a stream.

Sorry I don't know Sad

If the mountpoint you have specified in mpd ends with .m3u then you have configured it wrong. The m3u is appended to the mountpoint specified which produces a simple playlist content for the browser.
