hey guys
i am wondering how i can obtain a list of streaming icecast servers. I am trying to connect to it using the decoder program mpg123 which is command line.
can anyone please tell me how i can connect to a icecast server using command line?
i've tried 'mpg123 -v - t http://dir.xiph.org/listen/8582/listen.m3u' but it doesnt seem to work.

an m3u is a playlist and I don't think mpg123 will process a playlist after it has been retrieved. So mpg123 needs the actual stream url. Whether the m3u will give you the list of streaming icecasts will depend on what you really want from that list.
