Hallo
I have written a debian howto that includes howto set up lame, ogg, icecast, darkice and darksnow all ready for streaming.

If the howto is good enough, please add it to the icecast sites docs page, otherwise please add comments about wat needs to be included or fixed.

Hey, is this howto any good?
Im getting a bunch of hits on it and was just wondering if anything needs improving/amending on it as ive had no comments on the page about it

You have not used the packages in the debian repository. Why? Is easier.

yes, why do you use the tar?
icecast 2.2.0 is easy to install with aptitude for instance..

How to install from source for debian:
for example this install darkice WITH lame support
apt-get source darkice
apt-get install liblame-dev
apt-get build-dep darkice
cd darkice*
vi debian/rules
# remove --without-lame
dpkg-buildpackage
cd ../
dpkg -i darkice*.deb |
