Hello,

I've been cleaning up the MP3 ID tags in the audio files being used with ezstream for our fallback stream. What I'm noticing is that the ID tag information seems to be getting read twice. For instance, if I have a band called The Spammers and the song is Blacklist Me, Baby, it shows up in displays as:

The Spammers - Blacklist Me, BabyThe Spammers

I have a couple of theories -- the most prominent of which is that for some reason ezstream is reading both the v1 and v2 tags and concatenating them. As I'm not presently in a position to test that theory, I'd appreciate hearing from other folks who have observed this phenomenon.

I'm fairly certain that ezstream only supports ID3V1, not V2...

Out of curiosity, what is the filename of that particular song? In certain cases ezstream falls back to using the filename of the file for the tag in the event it can't find a suitable tag. I'm wondering if there might be something goofy going on and it's using part of the filename instead.

Whatever the case, if you're using the Linux client (this is the one I use and thus is what I'm most familiar with Very Happy) and you have a chance to look at the output it should say something to the effect:

Songinfo is Artist - Track

If the tagging is messed up there it narrows down were the bug might be at least.

There might be something to that. I'll edit some of the song tags to only have V1 tags and see if that clears it up for them.

Yes, I like your thinking on that point. I've seen ezstream do this, and in some cases it might in fact be doing that. Most of them, though, seem to be repeating.

What I'm seeing, to use your format metaphor above, is

Songinfo is Artist - TrackArtist

I think the V2 theory sounds the most promising. I'll tweak some files and let you all know what happens.
