Hello,

i'm trying to get Icecast v2.3.2 running on my new Vista Ultimate x64 system. Before on XP SP2 it was running without probs. I use it with Traktor v3.x as client, which cant connect to Icecast, but i assume the problem must be on Icecasts side, for I cant even access it through the browser.

Already tried to free port 8000 on the Vista Firewall (TCP+UDP) and also disabled firewall completely.

I have also tried entering the admin interface, first like: http://internalnetworkip:8000/admin/stats, then with the dyndns adress and also with the global/external IP (http://ip:port / http://dyndns:port) in my browser, always with the result that the webpage couldnt be displayed.

Is there maybe a incompatibility with Vista Ultimate or x64 systems ?

Help is much appreciated !

Regards, schlegel

The win32 builds have been known to work on win64 although its not commonly used setup so I don't have many reports on it. icecast should be listed as a running task on vista so make sure of that first then see if vista is preventing access like with the firewall.

Hello karl,

thx for your quick reply! Smile

At first i remembered that during 1st install of icecast i didnt let it install as a windows service. So i unistalled icecast and reinstalled it, this time i let it install itself as a service. Dont know if this makes a difference though.

Next I checked in the task manager, icecast is displayed as running. Then i tried connecting via my browser http://myip:8000 and http://dyndns:8000, both times the website couldnt be displayed. I checked this with and without windows firewall active.

When i connect to http://localhost:8000/ i get the Icecast2 Status window.

This looks like progress to me .. Smile

But what does that tell me know ? How can i configure Icecast so that it can be accessed with my net ip ?

Update:

Sorry for the trouble, i could sort out the problem! With my new Vista installation my computer got another internal network ip, which i didnt realize until now. Port 8000 in my router was still forwarded to the old network ip. I corrected this and changed the hostname in the icecast config file to my internal network ip. Accessing Icecast from the ddns adress is now no problem and also the traktor client connects properly! Thx for your help! Smile
