Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hello,

I have this Shoutcast stream:

http://85.25.151.118:8004/

being relayed to (Icecast):

http://67.212.189.10:8010/

Everything seems great except in the Icecast Directory I see "Unspecified Description" in the listing:

http://dir.xiph.org/search?search=Instrumental.Net

Is that because there is no Stream Description with Shoutcast? Is that also the reason I see that missing description a lot on the Icecast YP? Can I do anything about this?

It's a default value that's passed when not specified by the source client, you can use a per-mount setting of
<stream-description>something else</stream-description>

I understand that it's the default value. But Shoutcast doesn't appear to have stream descriptions. Can you still pass that info along the relay until it gets to Icecast and then the Icecast Dir?

Do most source clients have a stream description field?

I can't really say about shoutcast source clients because there are no docs to check. Ours do pass a description field but it is optional so maybe the default should be empty instead.
