Solutions to this topic doesn't have to be directly related to the Icecast software. If the problem can be solved by third party software I'm happy to take a look into that.
However my problem is as follows:
I want to have my server broadcasting the audio stream but only allow certain mac addresses to access it. And thereby deny all other requests.
It would also be great if it would be manageable even when Icecast is running, without the need of restart. Maybe this could be done by a third party firewall or similar?
Important: I don't want to password protect the channel! That is out of the question.
Kindly awaits reply,

filtering on MAC addresses tends to be done at the firewall level. icecast can filter on IPs but not MACs
