Hi,

I have following setup:

- Running icecast 2.3.2
- A master icecast server in our hosting center
- 2 relay servers on Amazon EC2

Now to save on bandwidth costs, I want to
1. Set the relays to on-demand so only active streams are played
2. Set My second server on EC2 to use the first one as source because bandwith within EC2 is free.

So I create some kind of tree where

Server C -> Server B -> Master Server A

and then I have client connecting to B and C.

The problem I have is that if a client connects to C and requests an idle stream which isn't playing on B, then C says it doesn't have the stream.

Is this a misconfiguration, bug or missing feature?
I would love to be able to chain relays and have on-demand streams.

Again the reason I want to set this up is that I want to save on bandwidth costs and any data sent between B and C doesn't get charged to me while data pulled from the master A does get charged.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Peter

B and C should have knowledge of the stream even if they are inactive as long as they are there on the master when the list of streams is polled for. In the example shown, C would have to wait a few minutes (maybe 4 using the defaults) before it would know about the relays.
