I'm attempting to install Icecast-Server (and Icecast) on a HP Thin Client running Debian Linux 4.0 I am definitely a Linux Newbie. While the file is installed, I've yet to figure out how to start the program. The Thin Client also runs gNome desktop. I'm wondering if the server (or Icecast) can have a desktop icon to run the program like it would in Windows?
Anu guidance anyone can offer would be appreciated. _________________ The only dumb questions are those we don't ask. |

At the most basic level, the server is started like
icecast -c icecast.xml
some systems package up icecast with a startup script which is called when the system boots up. I don't know whether that is the case with yours, you should be able to query the package for its contents.
