Hi there
Can anyone help install icecast on my server please? I'm a complete noob and haven't got a clue where to start. I've googled install help and although it's well documented i really don't understand what needs to be done... so if anyone can install it would stop my head from splitting in 2

a novice user would use something like yum or whatever package management to install icecast, windows users would run the provided exe.

Would that be for an installation on my online server? I'm not installing on a local machine...?

It would be on the machine where the listeners connect to. The exact setup you want is not clear but most often the icecast is on a machine with the bandwidth required to handle the listeners.
