Is there an easy setup if someone did a live show (like dj) to only have the stream enabled when he live?
i was thinking if the settings are already static, and he goes live he just has to double click perhaps a darkice icon on his desktop to send to the icecast thats running 24/7. correct me if im wrong?
and could there be a script made (html?) to change an icon on the website (joomla based) so when his darkice DOES connect to icecast the icon goes from off air to on air ? |

nevermind i used shoutcast instead. Shoutcast (with its pretty gui) with the dsp plugin allows you on one of the pages to select if the audio is coming from winamp (playlist for radio) and change it to soundcard (with line in selected) so he goes from the radio to live flawlessly. I never seen a way to do that in icecast. Also he has an intro mp3 when someone joins and backup mixes (in one mp3 file) so if it does go down it'll go to that. (maybe you guys can add that to icecast one day)
And as for the script ill probably just get a scripter to make one but its not needed cuz something is on 24/7 now with shoutcast |

Your original question was unclear. If a source client connects to provide a stream then it is available when it is disconnected it is not available. An xsl page can be made to show different html if a particular stream is not present, just as the status page shows a different icon if the stream requires listener authentication.
you should also not confuse the server with the source client.
