Because I've had problems with the icecast I built from RPM source, I reinstalled it from tarball source.
The problem now is I'd like an init script to be able to type service icecast start, stop, restart, reload, and status.
The init script Icecast installed from the RPM I built did that but that had problems.
I modified the script from the Icecast RPM I built and installed, and attempted to use it on the tarball version of the icecast I have, but still the restart, reload, stop, and status lines don't work.

we don't ship any init scripts. init scripts are specific to distributions and how they work with prebuilt packages. If there is an issue then the person who wrote the init script is the one to contact if you are not prepared to post the details here.
