Well,
As you tell you're using linux, a very good solution for client streaming is IDJC (Internet DJ Console).
When you configure your icecast serveur, you define a mount opoint for your live streaming (ie /live.mp3), and at least one source entry (source with a password).
Using IDJC, configure your server connection to icecast box,, the port uou need (default is 8000), source login and password, and mount point.
On server, you'll have to have opened ports used by your icecast service. On your client box (at home our some local network), you simply have nothing to do.. Just launch IDJC and it should work.
Live streaming through IDJC is straight forward. As it uses Jack sound server, you even can bind to IDJC aux entry whatever sound program you want (skype discussions, some IP Phone program such as ekiga..) _________________ Epsilon Friends Radio Icecast Radio on CentovaCast admin panel.
