I all guys!
We would like to set-up a webradio over Internet based on linux and what we need (for that I read..) is a scheduler (like soma, camcaster or Internet dj console) and icecast2.
We will transmit the stream for our local LAN to the streaming server so:
1) We have to install the icecast server on the server rigth? Configuring it as explained into http://www.6809.org.uk/media/ices2-howto.shtml
2) Here the big questions...

Anyone knows some scheduler (open source) that works good with icecast and anyone knows how to configure it?We want to perform some live streaming (talking on the microphone or some king of live recording..)..

Anyone has some idea about the bandwith we need from our LAN-side?Or we need a large bandwith where the server is located?I mean..we need a kind of dedicated connections or some adsl line will works correctly?

And what about our port configurations or firewalls rule to allow the external user to connect to our web radio?

When we will perform a live streaming (let's say talking on the mic) what about the stream we are going to generate? We are transmitting from our LAN to the extern or we are transmitting on the server the live streaming as well?

Thanx everybody 4 ur help!!!!

Well,

As you tell you're using linux, a very good solution for client streaming is IDJC (Internet DJ Console).

When you configure your icecast serveur, you define a mount opoint for your live streaming (ie /live.mp3), and at least one source entry (source with a password).

Using IDJC, configure your server connection to icecast box,, the port uou need (default is 8000), source login and password, and mount point.

On server, you'll have to have opened ports used by your icecast service. On your client box (at home our some local network), you simply have nothing to do.. Just launch IDJC and it should work.

Live streaming through IDJC is straight forward. As it uses Jack sound server, you even can bind to IDJC aux entry whatever sound program you want (skype discussions, some IP Phone program such as ekiga..)
