Is there a way to test the number of users my bandwidth can handle?
I have 533k upload. Maybe that will give a general idea and someone can just tell me.

If you are asking about how many listeners that upload will take, then you'll have to divide the stream bitrate into that, obviously an ogg stream of ~128k is going to use up the bandwidth quickly, but even a 32k stream is not going to give you that many.

Thanks, that was the general idea I was looking for.
I'm just feeding for a few friends anyway. Thanks for the info.
And THANKS for the software, it's really cool AND pretty damned
easy to setup, 'specially after I figured out my port wasn't open in
the router.
I had the initial setup done in about 30 - 40 minutes and was listening on
my and my wife's computer thinking, hey this is great, so I mailed all my
friends and told them to hookup and I started getting all these emails that
it was just timing out. "ARG"
Another 5 minutes to open the port and VIOLA! It started working. Cool! _________________ Take summa dis! |

Don't forget to add any IP overhead on top of the stream bitrate. A 128k stream could require up to 160k of bandwidth once you tack on IP and TCP header information after things get broken up into nice packets. There's also the wiggle room factor as well. _________________ ++I; |
